JERICHO WHARF NEWS ITEM
Posted - Jun 30, 2017
As reported in today's front-page article in the Oxford Times, SIAHAF's Chief Executive Johnny Sandelson is meeting on Tuesday July 4 with City Council planning officers. The paper also reports that City Council leader Bob Price will seek a formal meeting with SIAHAF if there is no progress. The Wharf development is also the subject of this week's Oxford Times editorial: "Do not let this boatyard plan become dead in the water". "...The worst-case scenario at this stage would be for the current proposals to be withdrawn as they have been welcomed by the community. "...the leading members of the Jericho Wharf Trust have done an excellent job in negotiating a deal with developers. There have been endless meetings and hours of talks, resulting in a very attractive proposal for residents in the area. They will have to continue to exercise their diplomatic skills as they bring gentle pressure to bear on the developers."
